Grandad

On Saturday, my Grandad went to Heaven.
And even though I know it is a better place and he's not in pain or suffering anymore, it's so hard.
In fact, it stinks.
I hate death. I know it's selfish, but I do.
The last time that I saw him was 3 years ago when he came to meet Eli!
I was so looking forward to our trip this past week to Pennsylvania so see him and my Grandma again and for them to meet Cole.
Needless to say, he did not get to meet them.
We got there Tuesday and he passed away on Satuday morning.
I did get to see him and tell him that I love him.
He didn't know I was there, or he didn't acknowledge it. (Maybe he could hear me??!!)
I love you, Grandad.
I miss your smile, your laugh, the sound you made when you gave us a kiss when we were little!
You were a man of integrity.
You loved your family and did everything for them.
You mean the world to me and I miss you so much.
I can't wait to see you again.

I am so sorry Shannon. Death is always hard, no matter what. My heart is so heavy for your loss. We'll be praying for you both.

Yes, death is hard, BUT we need not "grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope." 1Thess.4:13 If you can, read "Heaven" by Randy Alcorn. It is all a matter of perspective. And while we grieve in that we miss them so much, when we look at the overall picture, it is so exciting! Missing many including Allen's mother and my brother. And sweet Colleen. But HOPE!

I'm so sorry, too Shannon. He looks like such a sweet man. Is he your mom's dad? They look a lot alike!! We'll be praying that you feel such peace and comfort in the next weeks and months!
