Texas....day 2

On Thursday we went to the Dallas Zoo. We thought Eli would enjoy riding the train to the zoo. It takes you directly to the front door of the zoo and took about an hour to get there! It was a lot of fun...very interesting people on that train!Aunt Mary, Uncle Brent, Eric....Aaron and Eli
There weren't a whole lot of animals out and about today! I guess it was pretty hot for them too!
The ground hog tunnel! Lots of little bubbles that you can poke your head up in and see them run around you!

In the "Little Kid" area they had this great stream that the kids could walk around in. I walked around with him...it felt great on my feet and helped them to not swell the whole time we were at the zoo!
This elephant was funny! It was washing himself...then walked over to the mud and dirt and flew dirt on him. I guess they use the dirt to keep them cool????
Funny!!!
"Eli, what do you say when you shake hands with someone?"
"Nice to meet you, nice to meet you!"

After a fun...exhausting...and hot day at the zoo, we went home for naps! Then my aunt and uncle took Aaron and I out for our anniversary! We will b married 5 years on July 17. We went to this nice Italian place with LOTS of food! My cousins are in high school...so they stayed home with Eli! Eli LOVED it!
Ignore how yucky I look....remember I had been on my feet all day!!!! Aaron looks great though!
My aunt and uncle.....great people and great hosts! Thanks so much for EVERYTHING!

Cousin Abbie....got to watch Eli that night! (I think whether she wanted to or not!!!)

Texas....Day 1

So I thought I would break my posts up to not overwhelm anyone with all of the pictures!!! We got back yesterday from visiting my family in Texas. It was a lot of fun and so nice to get away! Eli did a great job traveling and it was awesome to see my family!

We arrived Tuesday late afternoon. I don't have any pictures of this day! We ate supper at their house and went swimming at their pool!
Wednesday....we went to the Dallas World Aquarium
This seal was funny! It was about their time to eat so they were "talking" or screaming rally loud!

Above...my cousin Eric and Eli

Notice the shark swimming behind Aaron!

Ha ha! A bird pooped on Aaron's shirt! Purple poop on a white shirt....yuck!

Lunch....this resturaunt lets you write on the walls, floor, ceiling! Great entertainment for little ones!

That evening we went to a jump place....I can't remember the name! Eli had a BLAST! If I weren't pregnant, I would totally been going down this stuff too! It's so much fun!

After this we went to supper...it was 7pm. Eli did such a great job this trip with getting naps late, eating late, going to bed late!

All in all it was a great day!

that time of year again!

It's that time of year again....for you farmers, you know what I'm talking about!

That's right....it's harvest time! If you remember, Eli had a tractor themed birthday party. He LOVES farm things, especially tractors and combines. It's so funny how they like certain things. We defintely don't live on a farm and are not completely surrounded by farm things. My grandparents live on a farm and Tim works on one during the summer, but I'm not sure how Eli became so in to tractors and farm things!

So, tonight we went out to the farm that Grandpa Tim works on. We took out Eli's friend, Isaac! (His mom is my friend and Isaac and Eli go to Gail's house together during the school year, along with Isaac's sister Adalyn).
Grandpa Tim and Eli up in the combine:

Grandpa Tim, Eli and Isaac (Isaac's dad got to ride too, I just didn't get that great of a picture!)

I could NOT get a good picture of Eli tonight! This was the best out of 3. Grandpa Tim looks happy though! Eli was just as happy!

Thanks Grandpa Tim for letting us come visit you! Eli loved it and talked about combines and tractors the whole way home!

Happy Father's Day!

Aren't these cute? This is what Aaron and I got our dad's for Father's Day this year! I went to a "Piggies and Paws" party in April and this is what they do! They paint your child's foot and stamp it on paper. Then they take them and make it into a design of your choice! I'm sure you can guess which one goes to who....John Deere tractor...Aaron's dad!
The fish for my dad....
We have a different gift for Grandpa Mac...don't have a picture of it!
AND....Eli's daddy! He's the best! Eli LOVES him so much. We are very lucky to have him in our lives! Next year, Father's day will be different with having 2 little boys looking up to their daddy! We love you Aaron!
(Aaron did get an extra gift of feeling the baby kicking me! A lot! It was funny to hear him say, "Did you feel that one?" Oh yeah...I feel them and that was nothing! Aaron has felt the baby kick before, but now that's he's getting even bigger, it's so much easier to feel it!)
Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there!

Relay for Life

Friday night I had the privelage of participating in Relay for Life! It was a lot of fun! Yes....I am 7 1/2 months pregnant and YES.....I was walking! I did a lot of walking, in fact, probably too much! My 4am, I was done! My feet hurt and my stomach was starting to cramp! This baby had had enough, so I packed up and came home. Apparently just before the rain hit!

We started off the race with the "Survivor's Walk." Our team was made up of South Breeze teachers. We were helping celebrate these 2 fabulous ladies that we get the privelage of working with every day!

They kept things upbeat by offering lots of activities to help keep you awake! The first one being a 3-legged race!

Jamie and Arissa

Seth and Sarah

Eli and Aaron!

And the winner was:

They also had a pie eating contest. Which actually was just whipped cream! Torri did this one for us! She did great!

With all of the fun we were having, we were there for a reason. To help raise money to find a cure of this nasty desease called cancer. At 10 o'clock, all the luminary bags were lit and the lights went off to remember people that not only are survivors, but those who lost their fight.

Rick McFarlane....a friend of mine's dad who lost his fight a year ago. He also worked with Aaron at the Fire Dept.

Sweet baby Cora McClenahan....at age 11 months lost her battle.

Here is a look at the track lit up with luminaries. This part of the evening was a little sad, but motivating to keep walking. Even though I was tired and my feet hurt, that pain was NOTHING compared to what people who have cancer have to go through.

I'm glad I could be a part of such a special evening. I would encourage more people to participate in this event.

handprint

We had a slab of concrete poured in our backyard for a shed we're getting. We've had other concrete work down before, but never really thought to put Eli's handprint in it! So last night we finally did it! I LOVE those little hands and fingers! Now Eli's mark is forever at our house!

sunday's

Most Sunday's we get together with our neighbors for supper. Lately it's been so nice out that we've been outside most of the time. Today was no different. Actually, it was overcast and a little cooler.....cooler at least for this:We bought one of those hoses that sprays a bunch of different ways! Eli loved it! So did the nieghbor kids!
Then we unhooked the hose and and this happend! I'm sure it was a little cold!

Once we finished that...it was time to take the wet clothes off, dry off and put on dry clothes! This is what Eli looked like when he walked in the house! Hilarious!!!!

Then it was time for some ball!! There was some football...keep away....
Ladder ball....I hate to say that Aaron and I lost :(
Eli and his friend Cambri
Love them!!! My sweet family...that is about to be blessed with one more precious little boy!

So that was our Sunday. It was a little more exciting than most, but we usually do have a lot of fun with our neighbors! We are blessed to have these great people around. It definetly comforts me when Aaron is working and I know that I could call on any of them to help me with something!
